About Bronze Casting

  • Black Myth series bronze products are cast from high-quality copper alloys including brass, cupronickel, and bronze. The material has a rich, substantial feel.
  • Due to the high density of copper (approximately 8.9 tonnes per cubic meter), bronze artworks are generally hollow unless otherwise specified. This reduces weight for easier handling and shipping without any difference in appearance or quality compared to solid pieces.
  • A small vent hole is typically present at the base of cast bronze pieces (except for very small or solid works). This hole is a characteristic of the lost-wax casting process: the interior mold is made of plaster, which is cleared after casting. Due to the complex internal structure, a small amount of residual plaster may remain and may gradually fall out over time.

Care Notes

  • Display in a dry location. Regular dusting with a soft cotton cloth is sufficient; no special maintenance is required.
  • Do not clean with steel wool, wire brushes, or other hard abrasives as these will damage the surface.
  • Do not use acidic cleaners, saltwater, oils, chlorine compounds, or other chemicals as these will corrode the surface.
  • Do not soak or submerge the piece in water as moisture will penetrate and damage the interior.
  • If cleaning is needed, wipe gently with a soft cotton cloth.
  • Handle narrow sculpted sections carefully when moving the piece.
  • Small variations in finish, hand-finished details, and minor surface marks from the casting process are expected and are not defects.
